Partners support after baby is something we don't talk about nearly enough — this is for the person standing beside the one who just gave birth, trying to figure out how to help when everything feels new. Nobody really talks about the partner.

We talk about the mother — and we should. But somewhere in that conversation, the partner gets quietly assigned a role and handed an expectation: hold everything together.

Support your partner. Guard the house. Manage the visitors. Watch for the signs. Keep the other kids going. Make sure there's food. Be the person who holds it all — and be okay.

And they're expected to just... know how to do all of this. For a version of their partner they've never met before. Because the person who came home from that hospital is someone new. Someone they love deeply, but someone they're also meeting for the first time.
