About Honey & Sage

I didn't set out to build a brand. I set out to get through the early days.

After my first baby, I had a postpartum experience that was harder than I ever expected. It was enough to make me wonder if I'd do it again. But life had other plans — ours is a blended family, and when my partner Ant and I decided to grow our family together, I carried everything I'd learned from that first time with me. More aware of what those early days can take from you. More intentional about what I wanted around me.

The second time around, I stopped reaching for whatever was trending and started asking different questions. Does this actually work in real life? Is it gentle enough for a newborn? Will I still be glad I bought it in six months? I wanted things that were practical, beautiful, and calm — because I wasn't always any of those things myself, and I needed my environment to do some of the heavy lifting.

When I couldn't find a place that felt like that, I built one.

The person behind it

I'm Kate — mum of two, Melbourne-based, and the founder of Honey & Sage.

I'm currently completing my studies in professional counselling, which has deepened the way I think about the emotional side of motherhood and why the right support — practical and emotional — matters so much in those early years.

My family is my why. Ant, our kids, and the life we've built together are the reason this brand exists — and the reason I keep going on the days when running a small business feels like the hardest thing I've ever done.
