The story behind Honey & Sage

I’m Kate. That’s me, Ant and our baby in the photo you saw on the homepage.

Honey & Sage started with a question I kept asking as a mum: Will we actually use this?

After my first baby, the postpartum period was harder than I expected. When Ant and I decided to have a baby together, I went into it knowing a lot more about what those early weeks could be like. I was also far less interested in buying things just because they were popular or looked good online.

I wanted the things around us to earn their place. Something useful on an ordinary Tuesday. Something I’d still reach for months later. Something I’d feel good giving to a friend without quietly wondering whether it would end up in a cupboard.

That’s the thinking behind Honey & Sage. I choose practical baby essentials and gifts for how families actually use them. I care about how they look, of course, but I care more about what they’re like to live with.

We’re a blended family based in Melbourne, and this little business sits alongside the busy, messy, lovely parts of our life together.
